Finally!
Pastor Randy Corbin, Transitional Lead Pastor
Finally!
Yes, finally we can return to our corporate gatherings this Sunday! What we thought would be two weeks has gone 14 Sundays without congregating together for worship, discipleship, and fellowship. Wow! Who would have ever thought on January 1 that for more than 25% of the year ahead we would not be meeting?
We certainly are thankful for technology that allowed Pastor Doug, Pastor Ron, and me to provide ministry each week. And, we could not have done it without the expertise of Tanner de Bien. But, it was not the same as our face to face convocations.
But, starting this Sunday we will be returning to corporate gatherings. Now, it will not be quite the same. As you are aware there will be two services from which to choose (9:00a and 10:45a) and we will be requested to wear masks as we enter and exit and to sit apart from one another. Regrettably there will be no Sunday School initially and no nursery. Hopefully, however, as our governor and the CDC lift restrictions, we will be able to get back to our previous arrangements and ministries. Thanks for your understanding and flexibility! Our prayer is that even in this new context, we can still worship Jesus, hear Him speak, and enjoy fellowship with one another.
NOTE: On this special Sunday, in addition to recognizing Father’s Day, we want also to provide a time of congregational sharing and testimony. We are looking to hear what God has taught us individually as we traveled this unique time and how He has met us. So, come ready to share! Thanks!
Another Bend In The Road
Just as we were ambushed by the Covid19 and its implications, we were stunned by the sudden and tragic death of George Floyd and the follow-up protests, violence, and looting. Our church leaders (elders and governing board) feel the clarion call to racial justice cannot be ignored by the Church and our church. As a result, our initial response is to call for days of prayer and fasting this week and are encouraging us to consider participating, asking God to speak to us individually and as a church as to what our engagement should look like in increasing our sensitivity to the injustices due to race. So, we call ourselves to spend time asking Jesus and listening for His voice as to our response. Thanks for joining us!
