God Wants To Work With Us

Pete Einstein

Our God is an awesome God. Our Creator is omniscient – all knowing – and omnipresent …everywhere. God is loving and good. That is His nature. He can be nothing else.

Through the shed blood, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the price for our sins was paid. You and I have been “set free,” and are spiritual heirs to everlasting life, with God, in a place called heaven. By the power of God’s Holy Spirit, working in and through us, we, as believers, also can be empowered and equipped to live a prosperous and victorious life here on earth.

Christians have the Spirit of Immanuel – God with us. God invites us to be with Him. “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (John 15:7)  “…God…will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deut. 31:6) Additionally, our Heavenly Father desires that we utilize our unique talents, temperaments and gifts to benefit ourselves, to bless others and, most importantly, to bring Him glory. The choice is ours, however, to “do life” with God, or without Him.

Perhaps some readers can relate to a life of striving to “make things happen.” The world lauds “self-made” individuals, who prioritize themselves, their agendas and timetables above all else. Christ-followers are not immune from such man made philosophes. All we must do is diminish the “still, small voice” of God’s Holy Spirit and allow the roar of our own flesh to capture our attention.

God’s Word commands you and me – the church – to “bear good fruit” through intentional works which strengthen our own spirits, while advancing God’s Kingdom. The question we must answer is this: Will you and I be content to “do the work” in our own (limited) strength, or will we call upon a supernatural power, far beyond ourselves, to accomplish mighty things for God?

If we will focus our minds and hearts on allowing God to work with us, He will provide many collaborative opportunities in our lives. Fran and I have experienced such guidance, personally, within the context of SonPower Ministries.

And God has continually instructed and directed the body of believers at Carlisle Alliance Church, over the years, including: 1) Spiritual guidance and accountability, combined with “sweat equity” and sacrificial giving, during the initial church build-on and the more-recent nursery expansion projects; 2) Proper perspective and hospitality in decisions to open our church to bless the public – Carlisle Cares, ARD program, home-school orchestra and the Community Garden; 3) An intentional “coming-along-side” individuals – inside and outside the church –  experiencing chaos or crises in their lives, through prayer, the laying on of hands for healing, mentoring and the supply of physical or material needs.

At the core of our spiritual needs as individuals, and as a core value at Carlisle Alliance Church, God wants to work with us. He always has and He always will.
